Blended from seven bourbons finished in different types of barrels, Special Reserve is dense from nose to finish but manages to find the harmony between its divergent flavors The nose is perfumed with orange peel, potpourri, baked apples, and an undercurrent of toasted nuts and new leather. The palate introduces a substantial hit of oak along with allspice dram, a touch of rum, peppery spice, and cocoa powder. The chocolate continues on the long finish.
